I think I take things for granted sometimes.. while out on the surf. Because I don't always hear of fishing "accidents", whether fatal or not, too often...I think as long as I'm on solid ground (rock)...I got nothing to worry about. SO NOT TRUE! !!!

Its just like a car or plane accident. When you hear about it, it stays fresh in your mind...and because they DO happen often, (car accidents anyways)...you tend to think about being careful while out on the road...but with fishing accidents, because I don't hear of many...3-4 days later, I forget....
The Newport area has one of the most treacherous coastlines that I've (personally) ever fished. I'm sure there's worse...I just haven't fished them yet
. My problem is, when I'm in the zone...I don't think about any other variables other than luring the fish to strike...
