The beam amidships is still 8'3". I wish it were even narrower as I like a narrower beam but 8'3" is fine with me. No forward cabin or any cabin. I considered the FC/Fishermans Cuddy, but the deck on top was very high and not good to stand on at all in anything but a FAC-sea, plus it added weight and I would never need the cabin for anything anyway.
