I would suggest going & holding the blanks that are within your budget. You will get a much better idea of what you want when you go and hold the blank. & whoever you decide to have make it will send you in the right direction if your not really sure. Personally I wouldnt go any bigger than 10 feet, Especially with your pluggin set up. I feel the benefits of a long rod start to level out at 10 feet. Anything longer is too tiring making 100's of casts.

CMS Enterprises in New Bedford makes some great rods. Lots of finished rods to take a look at in the shop as well.
