bluefish plugs

Here's something simple for the toothy ones to chew on.

One of my funnest days fishing last year was bluefishing with my dad. We were fishing into a strong NE wind in heavy surf, but were onto fish for 3-4 hours straight. I wanted to make something I could heave into that wind and skip along the surface. These are pretty slim and have one flat side like a canal special pencil.

A buddy of mine gave me some thick birch dowels a couple of years ago and I've been on a 'use whats laying around' kick lately as I'm tired of tripping on stuff in the shop..

5 1/2 inches, and between 2 3/4 and 3 oz. I sealed em with the epoxy again. I want to see what bluefish can do to epoxy sealed hardwood. Ought to be a bit more of a challenge for them...

No fancy paint, no eyes, just straight forward bluefish colors.
