Cool

it's hard for me to explain this, but i have the feeling many of you guys don't really understand racism until you've felt it directed at yourself.

i haven't really articulated this before, but my everyday experiences have been and are colored by both overt and subtle racism. as many of you know, i come from a family of hard-working, industrious, hard-drinking stubborn well-educated rice #^&#^&#^&#^&s. and no, I wasn't adopted.

let me spell it out for some of the perpetually indignant limp-wristed lily white new england limousine liberals browsing this forum (I can't mention Spence by name, can I?).

it is a fair thing to say, from a minority's perspective: a white man calling a mostly black female team a bunch of "ho's" has the appearance of being a racist comment even if no malice is intended.

a black man who does the same thing is NOT in my mind considered to be racist, whether you like it or not or think this is right or wrong. at worst that man is a boorish misogynist IMO. and i would venture to guess that most black people would agree with me on this.

i'm not accusing anyone here of being racist (and I could care less if you are) - but you just don't know what it's really like until you've had it dished out at you from caucasian people. it does change your perspective.
