Did anyone happen to read the Globe today and see the article in the City & Region section about Fenway Picnic in the Park -- a fundraiser for the kids? It shows a photo of a cool family seated on an American Flag on the ground for the publicity shot. The cool family is Mike Lowell and his wife and children.
Well I for one was shocked to see the flag the guys and I in Iraq or all around the world are fighting for being used as a common rug to sit on.

In my days it was an offense to allow the flag to touch the ground when being lowered at revelry or for any other use of old glory.
Perhaps I am being overly sensitive to honoring the flag, but someone should have their brains examined to see if they are sitting on them.
