Used to do the high school football game in the morn then home to eat , watch games , nap and eat. then the football gave way to Eat , travel to Montauk thursday night and fish the whole weekend out there. That then gave way to eat and stay home thursday then fish east beach and Misquamicut Friday thru Sunday. Last few years its been eat at my house thursday around 1 pm then travel to central MA and go to another meal at my girlfriends family that evening. Then Fridays we would stay in Ma and brew beer with Smokey and his girlfriend and have another big dinner! That's what we will be doing this year.

The really long lived tradition was the football games Thursday morn with my father . We stared that when I was very young going to St Ray's games where he went to high school . Then he would come to my games when I played in high school and for a while when I was in college and just after until he passed away.

The fishing at Montauk was big time for many years ater that. i always did good out there over Thanksgiving and that was where the rigged eels always showed their value. back then it was a 36 inch limit but I would get at least one keeper every day out there and we would barbecue and smoke them right there next to the camper. Always good fishing at montauk that late in the season.

When I started staying in RI to fish Thanksgiving , the big gola was monster blue fish. I guess they came in after the mackeral but we used to catch some monster fish. One year I caught a load of blues that weight out at 23 pounds AFTER GUTTING! Them fish had heads big as a football and could have bitten your whole hand off if you weren't careful.

Anyway , sorry for being so long winded but once got rolling on the memories I got carried away!
