You know with all the wit and creativity I'm seeing in these creative, epistolary responses and with several references made to "writing a book" or "writing a novel", I thought this might be a good spot to suggest, for anyone who is interested, that On The Water is sponsoring a short story contest. 2,000 words or more and should relate somehow to fishing. The prize is a $300.00 rod/reel combo. Sort of short notice because it's due by 12/15. Just my .02, but why not try turning some of that barbed verbiage for the better good instead of at each other. Hey we all like a good fish story, right?
