Eddy, don'tlisten to these guys you'll only get confused, the one I use are a #58. 7/8'S of an ounce. Tringular file a groove just back of the lip. Small skin, 3/4 of an inch in diameter. Remove belly treble and tail hook, give the belly treble a good soaking in WD-40, couple shots over a day or two. Get a bead chain swivel ( I get mine at Red Top, they are 2-1/2 inches long and heaily built. Attach this to the plugs rear end eye with a good split ring. At the business end of the Bead Chain add another split ring and a Stainless Steel 6/0 O'Shaugnessy hook. Slide on skin and leave 2-1/2 inches of skin behind the hook at the tail end. Use a 2/0 treble attached with a split ring at belly. You won't beleive how good that thing swims and looks. Caught a lot of large fish on it back in the day both on the beach and the canal. Last hour of the west in the dead of night and let it swing, Reel only when current is not doing the job and v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y. Whole rig when done is maybe 13-14 inches long.

No plug is too small for a skin, remember that and you'll do just fine.

Why even try.........
