I cut it 25-50%..never more than 50%...( for the base and top color)I start at 25 and see if it will spray. if it don't I add alittle more medium....the gold color or what ever you pick for the sides, I go 50/50 with the cut so its thin and I spray it on or fog it on to give it a golden flash or hue
