Ladybugs are one of the most beneficial insects in your garden.
There are only 3 times in the lifespan of a ladybug when they aren't eating bad bugs.
1) before they're born
2) when they pupate from the larval to adult beetle
3) when they're dead.
Otherwise they spend pretty much EVERY waking moment in the pursuit of food.

When you include lacewings and parasitic wasps, it's a down-right nasty jungle out there.
