one thought is the fish w/ gloves. i fish w/ the aquaskinz gloves mainly due to fishing w/ braid, but they also help in the constant mouth rash/bass thumb you get from holding fish to remove hooks. they wont help you when you put a spine in you somewhere, but they protect your hands some.
