You've got to work your arms in the "off-season".
I had a serious case of "caster's elbow" a few seasons ago, but since I started exercising/working out (upper body) my arms only get tired, not sore.
(I'm not talking heavy lifting / bulk up workouts, just medium toning workouts, more cardio than muscle building.)
