While there are a lot of homeless veterans I really don't know how accurate those total numbers really are. There are some agencies tweaking the numbers to get federal funds. By one definition, any veteran who isn't renting or buying their own home is homeless.
So if a guy comes back from Iraq/Afghanistan, isn't married and decides to hang out at his folks house for a couple of months, he is considered homeless.
