Veterans are tough, they don't view/fear homelessness the way civilians do, its not the end of their worlds, they stick it out. A cousin of mine arrived home from Afghanistan, he got a temp janitorial job - real dead end stuff - but he says he he's never been happier. After living and breathing war, peace becomes an exalted premium. A stint of homelessness becomes a piece of cherry pie. Its not something they run from, rather if its on the horizon, they soldier into it. Its still messed up though, the numbers are dispiriting. Its coldblooded on the government's part.
