in that battle yes, but not so for the rest of the war. When the British forced the hand of the colonists and said their is no middle road, you are with us or against us, Citiziens turned against citizens. Past differences in land or family disputes were settled using this as an excuse. Women and children were murdered, houses and farmland burned. It happened a lot in the south and its a fact of the Revolution sedom mentioned in text books.
