That's the first one I've seen that looks good at slow speeds. Most are being retrieved/trolled at about 6 knots. The concept is simple. It turns out that fish contort their bodies when they swim in response to the eddy currents that roll along their bodies. Make a fish shaped bait with enough segments (three is the minimum) and it will move the same way, provided the eddys are strong enough (which is where the speed of the retrieve gets important). You can buy these now at Cabelas for 35 bucks. Spro makes some. Think they weigh 5-8oz. Guys out west have been making wooden ones for 5-6 years now. Some sell for @ 150 bucks. I've fooled a little with carving a few, but haven't gotten it right yet. Now how about posting some of the stuff you've been building, Paul?
