I fished alone more in the late 70's early 80's.
Now the only time I fish alone is just to get out of the house when on the cape to escape the in-laws...lol
So the answer is no.
Most of the time I have a friend or 2

Freshwater yes

Maybe if the ocean was down the street it would be a huge YES,,,, ice fishing NO,
