I know they are "Green" and good for dropping the electric bill.....but they drive me friggin crazy sometimes. I have one in our front door light and I swear I can drive to the store, get what I need and get back before it warms up all the way.
also got burned on the Dimmer switch with them. Bought 4 of the flood type for the family room and after I put them in found out you need "Special" ones for a dimmer to work
......I dished out $70 for them and they didn't work.....
