Yes, it is that time of year again. Spring is (literally) around the corner, the birds are doing their things, the sun is hanging a little longer in the sky, and the countdown to
fresh keeper fish can be as short as a month from now for New England.
And it is time to Defend The Cup!
A good crew from S-B went out last year and
earned a victory for the Striper Cup - From TO's first Canal Fish at the very start, the RI night time push, Islands, the North Shore Romp and all the way to the tight race at the end with competition from the very competent anglers of Team Jersey Shore breathing down our necks to the assembled Highlining Big Bass anglers of Team Striper. The competition was unreal, as was the effort put in by people from Team S-B to succeed in that challenge.
I wish I personally contributed more to the team in results but I did put in effort. Team S-B will need a strong effort this year to repeat and to additionally honor last years results. Repeat. That is going to be very hard. Repeat. The Old Schaefer Cup supposedly let a team keep the cup if they one several years in a row, the expectations were that a threepeat would be so rare. I think this is the same in the Striper Cup -
simply repeating will be a monstrous challenge.
Repeat. Repeat The Cup. Defend the Title. Join Team S-B
