They should have expelled the 9 yr old if the zero tolerance policy is in effect.If you got caught at school with baggies and scale they can't do jack.Neither are illegal for anyone to have and unless they have the stuff that is going in the bags they have nothing.They probably suspended the kid while on the phone with the local news trying to make a breaking news story.Bunch of crap is all it is.This zero tolerance policy means that if you bring a gun you get suspended for 4 days ? Does the situation get reviewed by the superintendant before issuing the suspension ? If so shame on that guy for being clueless to what it was and how the child obtained it.Now if your claiming zero tolerance in this case why isn't the kid expelled ? Zero tolerance is just that.Personally if the principle and teacher sat with the child and called his parents in he would of been forgiven and the whole ugly news story would have never happened.Why did it unfold the way it did ? I'll never know but I'll bet it goes deeper than what you and I know.
