I have been using fireline crystal 20 lb this season in saltwater and really like it. Casts beautifully and no wind knots. Seems resistant to fraying up too.

I have been thinking though that wind knots may have more to do with spool design of the reel than with the line type. I have been using an old Zebo Cardinal 6x which if you haven't seen one is similar in design to a penn 710. I have good luck with the penn 710 too, but have had a few knots with suffix. It does not have a skirted spool and it sits in the top of the reel with the reel body around it. Anyway, I have never had a wind knot on that reel. I have used spiderwire fusion, original spiderwire, mono, and now the fireline crystal. I can throw a plug as hard as I can with this reel and have been fine so far. With my other reels that I have wind knot issues, I find if I really throw it with a lot of strength, you are more likely to get a tangle, compared to an easy lob type of cast.

I have been using spiderwire ultracast invisibraid in freswater this year and really like it. very supple, casts a mile and strong.
