Seriously, the guy has a small saw mill at his house. I'll see if this is a regular thing for him or if he cut them special for me. I originally asked him about cedars and he suggested the pine.

I take it I should use a good dose or propionate to seal it. Never used any other stuff to seal.

Propianate is ok, I would recommend CPES first or minwax helmsman urethane satin second to seal. The urethane being thinned.
Why cpes, it allows for an excellant sealing with out much of a wieght gain so you are able to take advantage of the bouyant wood properties
I would use pine over cedar.
