Everyone has a different goal and for some , that goal changes from year to year. I've been thinking lately that an occasional trip , specifically for small fish on a fly rod would be fun instead of always bouncing the bottom for Moby #^&#^&#^&#^&. I also think going for some bluefish on the long rod would be fun and there are plenty of places that hold small blues all year so maybe that's todays goal.
If you want big fish , you should probably leave the smaller fish school but maybe sometimes , changing the technique to catch the small fish would be fun and sometimes worth passing on hunting for large.
