I understand not being happy when you spend a lot of money on plugs that don't meet your expectations.

But, I have plugs from a very reputable builder that have some blemishes that still catch great and I wouldn't trade them for anything. I wouldn't be able to sell them on ebay for the going rate of $50, but I buy em' to fish and not to re-sell. The fish don't notice the small blems on plugs if they are swimming the way they are supposed to swim.

I caught my best fish so far this year on a plug I built that had epoxy chipping off it and on an old Gibbs pencil popper that had turned from white to yellowish white over the years. I don't think the fish noticed.
