Don't worry about plain lead jigs, they work pretty good. Capt. Tim Tower that runs the BunnyClark out of Maine uses nothing but plain lead jigs and does just fine. When your down 200+ feet I don't think the cod can tell what color the jigs are the are attracted to the flutter and movement.
