Lamiglas is getting more realistic in their rod ratings, and they're also replacing too many rods that break when people actually try to cast 12 oz on a blank rated 4-12, but which can't realistically cast more than 6.

For example--the XSRA 1205 used to be rated 1 to 5-1/2 oz. The new ones are rated 1-4. The blank can still throw 5, but rating it 1-4 discourages guys from trying to throw 9" shads on it and having it snap

Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools, because they have to say something.
