"Im sure everyone knows about the recent catch at a UDL just a little to our SW that has attracted some local attention and has some checking their gear.
So there might be a school of impressive size coming our way.

This, from an almost 100 year old volume in Uncle Crafty's library:

"The largest striped bass of authentic record that I personally know of taken with rod and reel weighed 70 pounds. This fish was taken by Mr. William Post at ****** *****, Newport, RI on July 5th, 1873. It was a long, thin emaciated fish that would have weighed 100 pounds in normal conditions."

Early on an old-timer once told me to think of rocks as game trails and since none have changed significantly in these last 135 years...."

I dunno, Jim - I'm with you...

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.
