I vote for getting a cheapy first to see if you like it and are going to stay with it. Then get a nice one. I have 2 beautiful Les Pauls and a Strat and they have not seen the light of day in at least a decade. No time, just gave it up after 20years. Tuning a guitar at first seems daunting but before you know it you can use a pitch pipe and be done in a minute. Have fun it is a great hobby. I just pray my daughter will be interested so she can use mine.
