Two. Always. A Princeton Tec 40 on some surge tube around my neck and a duplicate spare in my bag.

I also have a USCG approved emergency strobe velcro-ed high up on my wader strap just in case. Old Uncle Zeke used to call it a body recovery device but I figure upping the odds if you go over the side never hurts.

Don't leave home without it.
