Captain Russ had been extolling the virtues of the BigFish 1 oz. Pencil Poppers to me, regaling me with tails of all of the 25-30 pound fish he has been taking on them around the islands......I guess he felt the need to prove it to me and so he did by boating this 30 pounder (weighed) while we were aboard!!
Man!!! What a fight it was on light tackle....I had a blast just watching him! He hooked the fish and dropped it, so he circled back around and dropped the plug back in the same spot and "KABLAM!!!"....he had the same fish take the plug for good this time!!!
