when you say fast are we talking 70mph, or 100mph?
Let it sink to the bottom first, then retrieve fast. I would say if you can see a vapor trail behind the eel(110 mph), you're right on. Don't be afraid to put some weight on either. Mess around with the retrieve until something works. Then, at the drop of a hat they may want it slow. Like a well known author once told me, the big ones are all females, thus they change their mind often.
