48 is a low estimate too, it sucked as my boat is not big enough to make anyone get out of my way. There would have been way more if the wind was not blowing so hard. It is a common occurrence every year at that spot. Just not worth it to me with the comm. season still open, and I got a license. Last year was way more fun
The windy conditions were nuts. I couldn't believe how many guys were out there in that weather. I'm assuming that there must have been some catching going on for that many boats being out there for that long of a time. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall listening to some of the conversations out there.

I also heard on the radio that there was a CG rescue at SN on Thursday during the day. I think the rescue boats left out of Barnstable Harbor. Do you launch there a lot?
