The computer should give a dump of the error. Pray it ain't the computer going, that would be a nightmare. It should not happen all the time, (unless you have FICHT) then it very well could and I sympathize with your pain.

I have had only one major issue with my ficht. That was last year's fuel HP pump. But on this issue, a few years ago I picked up some kelp, a shopping bag and later some paper all in one day, three overheat alarms. Keep in mind this is in Bahstan Habah.
I still did not change anything and she ran fine for years after. I;ve picked up debris a few other times too. Alarms and ficht's S.L.O.W. protection has saved many powerheads.
This past winter I changed the impeller and it still looked fine. That's why I said its probably fine-go fishing.
