What reall frustrates me with the banks and other financial institutions is that the boards have no personal stake in the decisions they make. They take a chance with someone elses money and when their longshot goes bad they still reap large bonuses and the government bails them out.

If Uncle Sam is going to bail them out, strip all the executives and senior managers of their big bonuses and make them government employees at a wage suitable for a public servant and use the windfall to finance the bail out.

I am probably further to the right than most, but the high rewards enjoyed by executives in all industries should come with equally severe penalties for failure. The executive compensation $hit got out of control during the"Feel Good" 90's (Clinton years) and we haven't been able to get it back under control. Back then no one cared because the stock market was printing money.
