Left the island early yesterday because of this storm. My first time there and I went through the learning curve but was able to find fish the three nights I fished. Most were on the small side but the last night I had three decent fish in the teens to low 20 lb class. MV is big and a lot to cover. I was impressed on how many guys chase the albies and bonito - they were all over the place. It was a tough transition for me because I'm so used to fishing darkness and slow. Hard for me to fish daylight and fast. Lots of very friendly fishermen. Got to see Matt Malowsky hand feed albie fillets to a seal at the derby dock - thing was huge. Highlight was having dinner with Mr Sandman and wife and swapping stories. Thanks for a nice evening Jim. The rip at Chappy is one of the most impressive moving water experiences I've witnessed.
