Scott, every couple of years we have an event in Boy scouts called Pumpkin Chunkin......All the troops in the area get together and make catapults, trebuchets, and whatever else you can dream up to throw pumpkins...sometimes get 100-150 yeards out of it.

Give out prizes for distance and accuracy.....sounds right up your alley

Its strictly for the Boy's enjoyment though (Yeah, Right)
