Thanks to all for your kind words. Coming home and seeing all the good wishes from my fellow SB'rs put just as big a smile on my face as when that lock popped open. I have learned most of what I know about surfcasting right here on this site.
I'm really tired, but I'll tell a brief story. My girlfriend went over with me today, as well as another couple of friends of ours from work. The ferry ride over was a little choppy, and I was out kind of late last night so I went outside in the fresh air instead of sitting inside with them. I was standing out of the wind near the rail and there were 2 other guys who I deduced were fishermen so I asked them if they were headed to the ceremony. They said they were and come to find out 1 of them took the first place boat bonito, putting him in the running for the truck. We briefly exchanged stories and wished each other luck. When we were all on stage I ended up drawing the lowest number for the shore guys, giving me first choice of keys. The guy I met on the ferry (Paul Harris) drew the highest number for the boat guys, giving him the last crack at the truck. Of course you know by now I picked the right key and wouldn't you know it the guy I had just met hours earlier ended up getting the truck! I am still trying to make sense of everything that happened after that, and it might take me a few days, but needless to say it was one awesome day. If I tried to thank everybody I should right now I would be sitting here forever, so I'm gonna go chill and watch as much of the Sox game as I can without falling asleep.
