Fisher1989 Scores

I took fisher1989 to a good blackfish spot yesterday AM and she added another species to her catch list - a very respectable 6.2# whitechin from the rocks, her first keeper black (or tittog to you Bay Staters out there)

Boy, she's got potential - but I think she also realizes now that blackfishing from the rocks can be a whole lot like work - and not exactly as glamorous as tossing flies to finning bonefish in the Bahamas

But boy, is it ever worth it!

Anyway, maybe she'll post a photo of it here if she sees this. Steve at the SWE took one as did her mom, I weighed it myself on my digital scale - I wish I wasn't so envious, I ended up with nada

She lost one as big if not bigger earlier - it broke off when her braid let go at a nearby spot after the braid got chafed.

So after she was done fishing she did what any good fisherman would do - she ran right over to Edward's before they closed and bought a 100 ct. box of blackfish hooks so she could tie up more rigs and do it again today!

Uncle Crafty's very proud of ya - and pretty damned jealous, too

The kid's got big potential, I'm tellin' ya - I might - repeat might - take her to my sacred Spring spot if she can get her GPA in Marine Fisheries up there this year

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.
