Bought my dream Grady White 25' in August of '03 in Maine. After one great month, I had horrible experiences with marinas, service, and nagging fuel delivery issues. Homeless people colonized my boat 2 consecutive winters while in a Portland boatyard, leaving bags of feces in the hold and wrecking all the lockers (the yard was aware of the potential problem and makes you sign a waiver-I was just one of the lucky ones, I guess). I was going to unload it last year but we bought a place on Narragansett Bay and I wanted to give it another chance. I had it repowered with a new Suzuki.

We discovered that where we are in RI, there are near gale winds practically every day in the summer months, so the dream of having a dock is gone. Unless you're out at the crack of dawn, the wind is relentless. There's no place to park/load-unload passengers without having to pay slip fees. The wife has hated the boat for a while now, the kids are too young or apathetic, and none of my buddies is into being on the water. To top it off, I was mistakenly lead to believe that fish jump into your boat in The Bay. I learned too late that July/August are the fishing doldrums and big stripers are taken at 2AM by guys casting surf in full wetsuits (I just want to catch some fish, not die trying!).

So...please forgive my bitchfest. All I ever wanted was my own Grady White. Now I'm seriously thinking that the dream is dead.
