if it works for you, do it

as far as redfins, they're pretty strong (for lack of a better word) swimmers - if they can handle 10ccs of water, i'd think a properly sized dressed siwash would not be a problem. i've put 4/0 hooks on them when into good sized fish and they swim and catch well with them. a 4/0 treble is heavier than a 5/0 siwash i would think.

in my opinion though, you'll do just as well without a dressed tail on most plugs as you will with. its about confidence. if the dressed tail makes you believe the plug will fish better, you'll fish the plug better and that will result in more success.
