Hi, I'm Jim. I was born and brought up in Northport on L.I. where I fished some, but not as much as, looking back, I should have, considering the what was available to me. My dad was a teacher and since some old, old, old relative had the foresight to purchase some property in West Dennis back after the Civil War, I have spent all or a portion of my summer and intermittantly there thru the other months since I was born. Live in Central NJ now and work for a major satellite communications providor in Princeton. Took a haitus from surf fishin about 15 years ago to get married and I have a great wife of 19 years and kids, two of 'em, super girls, but now that they're getting older I'm anxious to get back into it here and on the Cape. (Just finished reading Jim Freda's Fishing the New Jersey Coast). Most of my surf/salt water fishing exprience was learned (I'm still learning) by trial and error on the Cape, since my mom's a Capee and my dad has been roaming around there since he was stationed at the NIKE site in N. Truro back in the 50's, so all summer long I was taken to many, many fishing venues mostly from Dennis out to P'town. I know I'm a washashore, but I feel like my roots are on the Cape rather than Long Island displaced to NJ. I would like to someday retire there, give up the hectic engineering lifestyle, cross paths with some of the great personalities I see posting here and write and make plugs and lures (the desire for those last two likes fueled by the influence this website to which I am greatly addicted and thankful it continues to thrive).
