Spence, west passing low pressure (Nor'easter) coupled with a spring high tide (4.7ft predicted at Newport). Add two feet of storm surge on top of that, and the water level is ~7ft above MLLW. Not a hurricane surge, but put some 12ft swells on it and there will be some erosion along the south facing beaches... 2ft is fairly typical for a decent sized nor'easter. Extend it for 5 days and you end up with the Patriots day storm...

There will be a set-down after the storm (most likely) once the Low passes and the NW comes in. Go scout spots at low-tide Sat afternoon, especially up inside the bay... should be able to see some structure if the swells aren't too big to obscure it...
