Actually Eben I did know that, I believe it was 18,000 miles closer than normal, and the 16 year anniversary of the 'Blizzard of 1992' another very significant nor'easter for the south coast of RI to boot....
If you want, I can stop by and we can have a riveting discussion of tidal datums; I can use lots of fun acronyms; NAVD88, NGVD29, MSL, MLLW, MHHW, we can even put it in context with the tidal data we collected in the river a year or so ago if you like. I can bring graphs and data and you can go nuts analyzing it.
