This reel I am entrusted with is a half bail. The backside of the reel up by the neck is a screw cover over a grease gun fitting. The writing on the back says: MADE IN FRANCE - MARQUE DEPOSEE. Further around on this backplate there is some writing: BREVETE SGDG.

The reel seems to have a very good drag. The half bail flips completely backward. The line guide is NOT made to rotate; however, it can be easily repositioned to spread the wear.

Alan, I am pretty confident that is a Ru-Mer #50 half bail. Somehow Ru-mer was tied into Mitchell reels (maybe they became Mitchell and then Garcia-Mitchell)
