I bought my wife the Garmin C550 and she loves it. It's bluetooth enabled, and has a card slot for mp3's pictures, etc... She also likes that it gives spoken street names and has a lot of points of interest pre-loaded. Pros are what's mentioned above, along with the simplicity of routing to your destination. I haven't come across any cons with the Garmin yet.

The Garmin Nuvi's have great reviews as well, and they're smaller (thinner) than the Streetpilot models. Right now there are some great deals on the Nuvi's. It might also be good to look for a model with the real time traffic reports already loaded. I hear it's a grea tfeature on the Nuvis.

I have a Mio GPS and it has great features, but is definitely not nearly as user friendly as the Garmins. I bought the Mio for my wife and she didn't like all the steps it took to route to her destination. It almost has too many features and options for someone who's not a techie.

Conservatism is not about leaving people behind. Conservatism is about empowering people to catch up, to give them tools at their disposal that make it possible for them to access all the hope, all the promise, all the opportunity that America offers. - Marco Rubio
