The only time I ever hooked myself was predawn in SC.
It was the first time I ever used braid. I didnt see the braid looped around my ankles and when I stepped, my popper swung right into my hand- my left ring finger actually. A 4/0 treble in past the barb - great. I didnt have much gear back then but fortunately I did have cutters. I left a 1/2" of the hook sticking out so I could grab it with pliers but it was impossible to get out. It's cool how the skin will swell up and stop the bleeding. So- having got up at 4 am. I fished a couple more spots and then the Cranston Emergency Room doctor gave it a shot. He had to climb half way onto the table to get the leverage to push it the rest of the way through.....uh...yeah...a little novicaine please!
I know there must be some good injuries out there.
Who's got a good GORY story?
