Fecundity, egg quality, genetic quality, and population breeding success all improve with older fish. Here is one of many references again. Why not read it, Bass Dawg, and hopefully stop spreading a misleading myth that rationalizes killing the most valuable fish in the population? If the whole thing is too detailed, scroll 1/2 way through to the subtitle regarding age and fecundity.
