In fishing, I try to look good but I would much rather have gear that is functional and last long which is why I like VS's and Lamiglas and the like. As far as matching equipment, I really don't worry too much about it, as long as it works! I will say that I do take excellent care of my stuff which takes about 5 extra minutes after each trip but offers alot in longevity.
