To funny, for thoose that didn't know the magnet was an attempt to keep the belly hook from causing diggers/scratches while casting.....but if you looked there is a scratch that was caused by the one fish I did catch with it. Someone (sorry my memory fails me) outside gave me a simple and yet easier solution....a rubber band
